I don't have an account, how do I get one?

Only LSC Members and selected guests may have accounts to access the restricted areas of the site. When you join ensure you pass on your email address and you will recieve an email asking you to activate your account. If you do not receive that invite, email the site admin and provide email address, fullname and membership number if you know it.

How do I sign in?

a/ You need an account.
b/ Click the link 'sign in' at the top right of most pages, then enter your username and password and click the button. If successful the sign in link at top right will change to 'Hi [Yourname here]' with a link to a page to change your details (name and email address), and below that a link to click to sign out.

Will all my personal data be sold to eastern block mafioso?

No, nor will your email be displayed or made available to anyone except the club admins that need to use it for Club business.
Passwords are stored in a way whereby they can neither be read or decoded. Password reset is done via email owner confirmation. Accounts are locked out when 'brute force' attempts to access the account are detected.

So what will my email address be used for.

Calendar reminders that you have a duty coming up, results, social event info, Club meetings reminders and info etc.

My Account will not work.

It may be locked if you have tried lots of password variations in a rabid frenzy of anger. Ensure you have the correct username and password, try a password reset, this will also clear a locked account. Still not working? Email admin.

What is this email about activating my account?

Welcome newbie Member!
Since you are a Member and have provided an email address you may activate your account. Click on the link in the email, you will be asked to confirm some basic details and set a username and password to use to access the site.

I forgot my username..

Click on the 'sign in' link top right on most pages, this will take you to the sign in page to enter your username and password to get into the site but below the sign in there are three links - 'forgotten password', 'forgotten username', and activate account. No points for noticing you will need to click on the 'forgotten username' link. Enter your email address and the active username will be emailed back to you.

I forgot my password.

See above, you need the 'Forgotten Password' link on the Sign in page. You will be sent an email with a link to click on which will enable you to set a new password.

I forgot what email address I used..

Either try the 'I forgot my username' approach with the candidate email addresses or email the admin, include your fullname and membership number if you know it.

My email address has changed since I set up my account.

Sign in and click on the link top right 'Your Account' alter the email address and click update.

I need to assign myself to Duties, how do I do that?

Volunteering must be switched on for you to be able to do this. The Sailing Sec /admin will switch that on once the calendar is ready and let you know.
Sign in (click the link top right, enter username and password). Go to the link Sailing > Racing Calendar in the main menu bar..
If the calendar is covered with 'available' in red there are many duties to fill and volunteering is switched on, if not volunteering may be switched off.
Click on an 'available' duty and a box will pop up for you to confirm you will commit to the duty, by default you will receive an email of the duty details which can insert the duty into your Calendar (iPhones, Outlook etc - not compatible with paper.. you will need to use a pen) Uncheck the box to NOT recieve the email if you really don't need it.
Your name will now appear in bold green against that duty. Repeat untill the Sailing Sec starts smiling again.

Ah, I just realised I can't do that duty I just commited to.

Click on your name assigned to the duty (it should be bold green, or perhaps you are not signed in?). A box will pop up, if volunteering is switched 'on' you will have the option to remove yourself from that duty. Now assign yourself to another that you can do to keep the Sailing Sec happy.
If the season is underway the calendar will be in 'swap' mode so you will not be able to directly remove yourself from a duty, instead you need to swap with another duty/person.
