As the tides are neap tides at this time of the day, when high water is on or around the start time the juniors need to get on the water quickly.

We have need of helpers to get the juniors afloat and ashore at the end of the sessions which will be approximately around 7.00 pm

Apache is the rescue boat and the crew is there ready to go into the water and recover a dinghy and should be dressed accordingly. We want to avoid using it as a pleasure boat as we should have sufficient dinghies to get everyone afloat.

Saturn is used to run the coaching session but is a second rescue boat if required and the crew is there ready to go into the water and recover a dinghy and should be dressed accordingly. Again it is there as a safety and training boat and not as a viewing platform

Dot Patrol is used as a Committee Boat for starting and finishing the races normally for the Laser Fleet.

All juniors and helpers must be wearing float jackets and wet suits.

Mercer Bridge Observer is to sit on the Bridge Deck as extra pair of eyes for Safety. This person has access to the radio, as does the beach master.

The Beach master is to keep a log of those going onto the water and then sits in the Mercer Bridge with binoculars to act as a lookout. The Beach master, as well as all the above boats, all to have access to a radio. The Beach master then logs all those coming ashore and helps with the recovery of all dinghies. Then could he/ she also collect the £2 dues.

We have two Club Toppers and a Club Feva, which are available for use at the Direction of the Sailing Sec, Junior Bosun or Member in Charge for the evening.

The Cook and his / hers helpers produce hot pizza and hot chocolate afterwards for those juniors attending. The juniors to pay £2 per session towards the cost of the food.
